    Which version of it is best?
    I have the original Virtual Dub,Nandub and Virtual Dub-mp3 freeze.

    The main branch of VirtualDub is the best by virtue of the fact that it is the only version that is actively developed.

    Development of Nandub (Nando's version, there are others) stopped in July 2001 and is unlikely to return as it simply allowed tweaking of codec parameters that in the end didn't really achieve an awful lot. It also does not work with the newer DivX codecs, only the old 3.11 alpha release. For a more thorough treatment, look here.

    The other version you mention can be useful but is also unsupported. It allows you to add a Variable Bitrate MP3 soundtrack to your videos which means you can encode the audio with a decent program (namely LAME), the antifreeze portion is no longer necessary and was a patch for the old DivX codec as well.
