Could somebody point me in the right direction to a guide to do the following... VCD to DVD... I want to join the two VCD's and then burn them to DVD.... I think I have to convert them to mpg and join them and then make them DVD compliant...but I'm not sure how to do it.... Any help would be great Thanks

Convert the audio to 48khz to make it dvd compliant
www.vcdhelp.com/vcddvdr
Before you author to dvd you can join them with tmppgenc www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencedit and select mpeg1 system stream. -
Also, to be even more compliant with DVD, check to see if the "frames per GOP" is set to 15 (PAL) or 18 (NTSC) depending on where you live.
Hope That Helps!!!:P
