Okay, I've converted many DivX films to SVCD to watch in my new DVD player... I've never had a problem until recently.

    I'm using TMPGEnc 2.56.39.143

The DivX video is 640x272, 23.976 fps
It's 2 DivX cd's long, trying to convert to 4CD SVCD

The sound is 48000Hz and 192kbps I believe...

When I convert, the video comes out choppy, and this usually doesn't happen, it chops about once every 3 seconds.

Also, the sound in a little bit, weird sounding, a little too high pitched or something...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Sounds like aC3 2.0 192kbps audio-related problems to me... Extract it and use besweet to convert it

    Hopefully that'll fix it

It might be that your player doesn't like 48000Hz audio sampling frequency. Try selecting 44100Hz audio sampling frequency. Also, did you enable 3:2 Pulldown under the Video Tab next to encode mode since you're converting a 23.976fps DivX into a 23.976fps SVCD?

    Hope That Helps!!! :P
