I just got a new HD 52" tv
and I was wondering what would be the best converter for making it HD.
HD is not all that important
but ive tryed many Converters and when I watch them on my tv they are all still fuzzy.
what would be the best converter to use for this?

Your HDTV will handle the upscale.

Don't expect 640x480 to look great unless you step back 20 feet. You are seeing the trades you made to compress Divx as far as you did. How did you encode these files?

to the best format to play back on my tv
    through my Xbox 360
I dont care if its not HD
I just want it to be the best format possible.

If you have your xbox 360 connected to a computer you can use the windows media server or tversity and stream divx directly. No reconversion of the video.

  5. Everytime you convert formats, you lose quality.

If your DivX file was mediocre to begin with, encoding it again to a different format recognizable by the Xbox360 will make it worse. Watching this on a 52" TV will make it even worse.

Why don't you start with the original DVD and then encode it with a high quality bitrate & settings - your quality will be much better.

    I downloaded Tversity
and when i try to add a file
it says Unable to Connect to server
i don't have a direct connection to my Xbox
it is just on the same router
so it picks up the Zune software and lets me stream from that
