  1. Hey,

I'm having trouble with some avi's. The seek time (fast-forward or rewind) are slow/annoying as they take like 5 secs before it starts playing again. I heard that you have to manual insert more keyframes, but what is the best way? I tried virtualduab but you have to recompress and takes forever! Any tips? Thx!

  2. You either
-need a faster machine with more cpu power to seek faster
    or
-have to insert keyframes, yes, you have to recompress, loose some quality and yes, that means lots of time too.

When opening file with virtualdub open using popup extended open options, and then use rederive keyframe flags, then save the file with direct stream copy ticked for both sound and video, new avi will have the extra keyframes without the recompressing process, much quicker, however for a large movie file be prepared for the rederive process when opening the avi to take 1/2 an hour............
