I am new at video encoding but am doing fairly well thanks to this sight and seem to be able to make vcd's out of about any video files. But I have 1 problem and dont exactly know how to explain it. For example I have an .avi movie file that looks great and sounds great when played on my computer. I use TMPGEnc plus to convert to mpg so I can burn a vcd. But sometimes when I encode The colors look like 256 colors instead of 16 bit. For example if the picture was of an ocean in the .avi file it looked like an ocean. But when converted to mpeg it was made up of 3 colors that all puddled around each other almost like looking at the ripples in a pond. What happened to the color definition. It doesnt always happen and Im not sure where to look to correct this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please point me in the right direction. I know it is something simple that I must be overlooking. Thanks, Ray
