  1. Recently I was trying to access this site through my computer and was unable to. I can get to it fine through work, no problems. I just happened to reformat and reload my computer today. When I got around to it I was only able to connect to the site once and it was really slow. The rest of the time I couldn't. I have checked my security settings and I don't know what it could be. Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

I assume the site is having problems or overloaded with traffic. I often have trouble connecting (cable modem) and once on, find many topics won't open.

when does it happen? Our server is usually not overloaded. It works fine here from sweden, from both a 10mbit connection and a slow adsl connection.

I usually connect in the evening (East coast USA). It will come up as site unavailable for a couple of tries and then finally connect. I responded to a few questions and in each case had to submit the response several times.

This has been happening for about the last 2 weeks.

it may be a problem with your DNS that you are using (provided by your ISP) , switch to (or add in ) several other DNS severs manually (there are many public ones)..

you can check if this is the case by using the ip of this site instead oif the domain name ..

    just replace www.vcdhelp.com with 1109139202

    like this http://1109139202 or http://1109139202/forum/index.php

and see if it runs faster ...

it could also just be some sort of problem with your browser. i have dsl and at times it seem slower than dial up to load a page. i would call up your isp and explain your problem to see if he can help. most times that works for me.
