I got to know about one such product on http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/vga-to-home-video-convertor-box-pc-t...tv-connection/.

Please let me know if there are other such products? do we need to connect wires from PC to TV or can it be done through some kind of signle device?

    Please help..........

  2. Does your PC already have a composite or s-video output port?

  4. And you don't want to run cables from the PC to the TV? Have you gotten the composite/s-video output working yet?

One thing you should realize is that the picture quality via composite or s-video won't be great. It will be OK for watching standard definition video but you won't be able to browse the internet etc. because small text will be unreadable.

For a wireless connection you could use something like these:
    http://www.amazon.com/Terk-Technologies-Leapfrog-LF-30S-Distribution/dp/B00009UHXR/
    http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Broadcast-Transmitter-Receiver-Infrared/dp/B000GJKV9A/
Controlling the PC from the TV will be a problem though.

    Hi,

    Thanks for useful information.
Since there would be walls in between my PC & TV, do you think this kind of device will work? Any idea about actual picture & video quality?

I require this to control TV from PC & not other way around.

Those analog wireless devices will have mediocre SD picture quality. You could do better with a wireless network to a computer or server at the TV. Better to find a way to fish cables between floors.

For TV remote from upstairs, investigate RF to infrared solutions. It would be much easier if you had a computer down there.

I'm in a similar situation to you although I can run wired Ethernet. I'm looking for a server to feed the living room HDTV from my upstairs computer room.
