I have searched on subtitles and found some useful information but not quite what I am looking for. Here is my scenario and hopefully someone wiser than I can help. I use smartripper and extract the vob's with the ac3 sound and english subtitles. I have used the subrip program to extract the subtitles and the dvd2avi to extract the ac3 file sand create the avi. I encode the avi to mpeg format. I have been using spruce to author because I like the menus. It will mux the the mpeg and ac3 file for me. I do it this way because this is easiest for me to understand and do. Is there any program that will mux the subtitles? I don't think spruce will. Or does anyone know of another authoring program that will do this and let me create menus?

your right, spruce up doesnt support subtitles.
the way i do it works everytime by useing maestro but i never have menus even though you can do them in maestro.
dvd2dvdr to get the m2v and ac3 cause if it needs encoding it does it automatically (great program).
subrip to get the .son file which maestro uses (dvddecrypter to get the main vobs).
chapterxtracter to get the .chp file which maestro uses.
author and burn.
hope this helps.
