I'm just curious if SVCD2DVD does anything with a movie.ifo file if it sees it along with movie.sup file? It seems like if I add .sup subtitles with any authoring program I've tried, I get oddball colors. I know I can fix the colors up using PgcEdit. But I'm just curious because I see some programs generate an .ifo as well as .sup file.
Subtitles seems to be the last great mystery on the web. If you search for a FAQ you only get the basic info, like some are text and some are images etc..
If you could point me to some good info I'd appreciate it.

No it doesn't. Basically the colours used for the subs are defined in that IFO file, however SVCD2DVD doesn't use them as it will use a set of default colours, namely white with black outline (or the other way round - i can't remember and not in front of my own PC to check). SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Hmmmmm, there must be something weird happening because many authoring programs if I use .sup I end up with like a red sub with blue anti-alias or something. It's total eye strain. There must be some color conversion difference or anomaly because I get it with DVDAuthorGUI, AVStoDVD and SVCD2DVD. It's just strange. If I use PgcEdit on the produced VIDEO_TS I can fix it up easily enough. I'm just curious what's causing it. It's almost like trying to view a photograph that's a negative. http://milesaheadsoftware.org/
