I am trying to backup the Matrix dvd. I used dvd decrypter to rip, ifoedit to take out the extra audio files (left the 5.1 track), dvd2avi to extract the audio and then tmpgenc to encode. the main movie is in the vob_02 files, so I only used that in dvd2avi. after ifoedit, i checked with powerdvd and the movie worked fine. I encoded with tmpgenc plus using the settings on the doom9 guide, and tried to play the movie after remuxing with ifoedit but the movie skips and so does the audio. Also, the audio begins with the warner bros. logo music but the video starts with the menu (which plays right after the logo on the dvd).
WHat could be the problem? I can't figure out where the process went wrong, but I do know that after the ifoedit step, the movie plays fine using powerdvd. I don't know how to play the movie after the dvd2avi step, so it must be somewhere after there when something went wrong. Please help! any ideas will be appreciated.
