    I just bought one of the DRU-500a's with the old firmware rated at 2.4x write speed. Before I open this up I need to see if the software bundled with my drive is the same that is bundled with the updated drives rated at 4x write speed.

    Mine comes with

    Driver disk
    RecordNow
    MyDVD
    ShowBiz
    Simple Backup
    PowerDVD XP
    MusicMatch

    Is this the same sw that comes with the newer drives? If not, I am going to return mine before I open it up.

    i just got my drive on friday and it has all the same software and it only had the 1.0d firmware ( well not for long it did) ... so dont waste your time trying to return it since everyboady has them backordered well into the new year...
