Until now I used PowerDvd 5 that came bundled with an older dvd burner, and it worked fine until recently. When I connected to the net my cpu shot up to 100% with PowerDvd.exe showing in 'processes' as the cause of the problem, so guessed that my Powerdvd had somehow got infected and I uninstalled it. Problem solved.
Instead of re-installing it, I installed PowerDvd 6 (bundled) to try out. The only trouble now is when I double click on 'powerdvd6' to open, it automatically opens up my dial-up connection inducing me to connect to the net. Is there a hidden malware/spyware that comes with bundled PowerDvd 6, and is there any way to get rid of it ? Its really annoying.

Thanks nik. I looked but no such service in the administrative tools.

Silly me. In the configuration settings, 'automatically connect to internet for auto updates', untick.
