  1. Can anyone else out there who has the Pioneer DVR-105 dvd recorder, tell me if they are able to burn any .bin, .cue images? I am getting the following from Alcohol 120% 1.3.5 Build 1125

I have also tried using Nero 5.5.9.17, Fireburner, and CDRwin 3.9b with almost identical results, and can provide logs for each programs results if anyone wants to see them.

  2. i am using the 105 and have no problems burning bin/cue files as long as i use nero. Just select burn image takes about 10 seconds before it starts to burn though, but hasnt failed me yet.

  3. I have found that this problem was common of the A03, and A04 units, and was fixed through firmware

I have also learned that people with some sony drives are experiencing the same identical issue...

I wish someone could shed some light on this...

No probs burning .IMG files to full capacity. Have used latest Nero, DVD Decyypter (in burn mode) etc with no issues at all. Used IFOEdit and IMGTools to create the images. Nero in it's 'DVD Video' native mode is not good for compatibility - this works in one DVD player but not another - IMG files from IFOEdit work in every single player I have tested.

    "PM 07:20:38 Recording - DAO / SAO - 16X (2400 KB/Sec)" - I wouldn't be too confident on this line - I assume you are burning at 2x - have you tried at 1x - it could be your media ?

I'll try some BIN/CUE files tonight with Nero and update this post ..

Sorry - just realized that I assume you are burning CDR's and not DVDR's ... Doh...

    I haven't even tried CDR's yet on my A05 - I'll try them tonight ....

  7. jmbuis, and TeeeRex

if you can burn cdr's can you tell me did you have to reinstall your cd burning programs after removing the old drive and installing this one? and also can you tell me if your firmware is version 1.00?

I have not re-installed my programs, and my firmware IS 1.00 for the DVR-105

    still suffering along here...

    kingfenix,

Didn't have to reinstall Nero because it was the latest anyway. Have burnt CD's fine with the A05 and yes its FW v1.0

All my A05 troubles seem to be over - I blame them all on crud media and Nero (for DVD burns).

    Cheers,

    TeeeRex.

well I bought 20 Zero Defex CDR's that cdr-media.co.uk were raving about - the burner forces them to 2x (you cannot write to them at 1x) - they are rated 2x but are always coasters.

All the 1x Media I've tried works fine - Traxdata, Datawrite, even BulkPaq works OK - though after 1 hr there was a few breakups in DVD video. (theerfore not recommended). Also tried the latest white label (which is actually light blue?!) and ice white - all with no problems. (all at 1x mind you).

Stick with datawrite/datasafe - they are cheap enough now and should proove reliable in most DVD players etc.

CDR's are not a problem - 12p disks work fine in anything !

    Hope this helps.

  12. bin/cue writing problems to CDR

    Drive Cendyne DVR-105

Failure with latest versions of Nero Burning ROM
    and CDRWIN 3.9B

Successful bin/cue write in Nero after changing
write option to Track At Once.

Failure for both DAO and DAO/96 options

  13. DAO for bin/cue write on CDR works with Nero after updating ASPI drivers from nero site.

bin/cue write OK with DAO mode or TAO
    DAO/96 still is not OK.
