  1. Could anyone tell me what i exactly need for a wired network using rj-45 i have two computers with ethernet cards installed and i have a cable modem that i would like to share on both computers any help would be wounderfull....I know i need a router or a base station but i don't know what kind or anything like that

    The easy way will be to buy a hub and just hook them up, that is assuming you can get more then one IP address from you cable provider.

    If you can only have one IP and cannot get anymore it gets a little more complicated, you'll have to setup one of the machines to share the connection out to the other. If using a good version of windows there should be some internet connection sharing stuff built into the OS at this point.

    All you need is an ethernet cable to connect the two computers directly into the network cards installed in the machines. This is it, then you need to fix your network settings and one computer must be the gateway for Internet sharing.

    You don't need to buy anything else unless you are planning to connect more computers in the future or adding other connections. If this is so, get a hub.

    Linksys, Belkin, and several other companies all make little firewall/router boxes that cost somewhere between $50 and $150 depending on which model you get and what sales are currently on. They generally include a small 10/100 switch and sit between your computers and your cable modem, and only require a single IP from your provider. They're very easy to configure and work well. They also provide some measure of security.
