  1. I tried both Nero and Tmpeg for opening and encoding to vcd my divx movie files downloaded from Kazaa. I get the same message with both programs, file format not recognized or authorized. Ive got the 5.0 codec in the divx bundle player I downloaded and installed. The player plays the movies but nero or tmpeg won't open them for encoding to vcd. HELP.
this whole movie thing is lost if I can't do this. I'm running win 2000 pro, 15 gig HD, 256 ram, 550 cpu.

open in virtual dub, or use gspot, you may need more codecs

  5. If you played the movie and it's OK. That's not a fake.
Try change the directshow reader priority, in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and reopen the video.

  6. Iv'e tried all these things mentioned and nothing seems to work. The movies play in Divx but I can't open them anywhere else but in virtual dub and I'm not sure if that can or will help me. I don't think so, because you can't re-encode in virtual dub.

if you can open it in virtual dub all you have to do is frameserve it to tmpgenc for encoding
