  1. I am trying to convert a .AVI to a Mpg so I can burn it to a SVCD and I am having problems extracting the audio from the avi file. This is the information that is given my VirtualDub.

    Any Help?

P.S. This is the error I get if I try to play it or convert it in VirtualDub

  2. That is a problem you will get when the compression method you choose does not have the same sampling rate as the sampling rate in conversion
Match the sampling rate in the compression menu with the one in the conversion menu and it should work
At least it did for me =)

  3. Maybe you need an AC3 codec. Download the nimo codec pack from the tools section and see if that helps.

Can't you extract the audio with a "Direct stream copy", then use HeadAC3he or similar to convert AC3 to Stereo WAV

Vdub cant decompess from a 5.1 ac3 source. Save your waw as xyz.ac3
You'll get xyz.ac3.waw. Delete the .waw extension . Use headache or sg. else to decompress 5.1 ac3 to stereo mp2 resample to 44.1 khz cbr 192 kbps ( you can add more bits but....)
Multiplex this mp2 with your mpv file to get an mpeg. Use bbmepg for this job
