Hi, just got this problem and was hoping someone could help. I have read most of the ifoedit guides and *think* I know how to do this, but here goes - its quite long but all the relevant info I can think of is in here.
I am backing-up a single movie onto 2 DVD-rs, via the following:
1) Rip all files using smartripper to a directory.
2) I only want the main vts_01_xx.vobs, so I copy the first 4 Gbs worth into a disk1 directory, and copy the remaining 1.2 Gbs worth into a Disk2 directory. No menus or anything else in here either.
3) I rename the vts_01_5 and vts_01_6 files in disk2 to be vts_01_1 and vts_01_2.
4) So now I have two directories with files named correctly and will each fit onto a DVD-R
(I could have used ifoedit to split the original vts_01 set, but I thought that simply moving the files was easier - please tell me if this is the cause!)
5) I then ran ifoedit "create ifo" routine in each directory to get the new ifo files.
6) Run Get VTS sectors (of course!)
8) Burn both DVD-Rs using NERO.
Now, the first DVD-R runs perfectly, allowing me to move between chapters, no skipping etc.
But the 2nd Disk plays ok, then pauses at the end of the first chapter (cell?), I can press "next" on my standalone and the next chapter 2 plays ok, then it pauses at the end of that chapter 2, I press "next" and it will play until it gets to the end of chapter 3, and so on.
This only happens in my standalone (SCAN 440LSI - in the UK), the files/ifo's play ok in IFOedit player and PowerDVD on my PC, and the DVD-Rs play ok in my PC (Pioneer 104).
This happens on all DVD-R burns for this set (5 coasters so far!), with differing NERO settings.
I have reripped the original VOBS from the original DVD twice with the same results.
I can burn other rips ok that go onto two disks.
I can only think that it is the original file moving into two directories and not using IFOEDIT split funciton that could be causing this. A lack of disk space is the reason I cannot try this method!
Tonight I will try using IFOs that only have a single chapter rather than the last seven and see if this changes, but maybe the pausing occurs at the end of Cells rather than Chapters (both break at the same point)in whic case I predict the DVD-r will pause again. I will also try out on other standalones.
Anyone got any ideas ? Many thanks.

Follow-up:
I ran another IFOEDIT create IFOs, this time with one chapter. This time it paused again at what would have been the cell boundary, but then I couldn't go onto the "Next" chapter because there was onlyone in the ifo file.
I reripped these chapters independantly using smartripper from the original DVD, and still had the same problem.
