  1. I have some Lick Library DVD's that I would like to rip the audio "Jam Tracks" from directly. (for jamming with on my ipod)

In the past I've just recorded them in real-time using audacity. But is there a program that can find and convert these tracks?

I've tried a few of the free ones (xmedia recode, media coder, handbrake, etc), but none of them "see" these jam tracks in the VOB files. (they are presented as audio with a static video image on the dvd)

    Thanks for any info.

I've always used DVD Audio Extractor for getting audio from a DVD. It's not a free program, but they do have a free trial period. You can give it a try.

you could try checking the small vobs individually. each jam track is most likely it's own little vob, but i don't have one of those dvds to look at the menu structure.

  4. Thanks PhoneMatt....gave it a try just now and it got them!! so thanks! But it still doesn't see them as separate files (I'm sure it's just different markers for each track within the same vob)...so I just have to chop the wav into the proper tracks...no biggie, at least now it's a direct copy. thanks again!

Aedipuss, I've checked through all the vob files (using k-lite and MPC), and the "VTS_02_0.VOB" is the one that has them, but when played in MPC, the static images per track pass by rapidly in succession. When I try to convert this single vob with the programs mentioned, it just grabs the "other videos in catalogue" part and transcodes that part fine (although it's the useless part)....seems the programs can't index the actual song parts and grab them. (even as a single file).

Thanks for the quick feedback guys! xD

EDIT: Here is a screenshot of the wave file that DVD Audio Extractor threw out:

    it had...track1 | lead example1 (repeated x2) | lead example2 | track2 | track3 | some audio FX for the dvd | lead example1 (repeated again)
