I recently downloaded DVD Decryptor and have successfully ripped some DVDs to my HD. Since, I don't yet have a DVD burner, I'm wondering if burning back to DVD-R really works. I'm not looking to split the DVD since the DVDs I'm looking to backup will fit on a DVD-R. I just want to be reasonably certain that it will work before buying a burner. Also, will my PII 350 mhz w/384 RAM be able to handle? If the answers to all are yes, does anyone have a burner reccommendation?
Thanks

if you are talking about the writing of the ISO image to the hard drive, then reburning it onto a DVD-R, then yeah, it works...that's what I have done using DVD Decryptor...i haven't had the time to do the VOB files and stripping and such and try that way, but the ISO method works great

Dvd decryptor works! It so f*cking works man! if you just wanna copy an iso it works great! I can not tell you if a dvd burner will work on those specifications for my computer is double the speed of that and I think mines should be faster... but ram can go along way.... but dvd decryptor works. I have a sony dvd-r dru500a on my computer.

As long as the DVDs your backing up are under the Size of a DVDR disk then your on the right track.

PII 350 mhz can burn fine ... a p133 can burn fine ... its not the speed of the cpu which causes problems burning ..

OK, not to be anal or anything. But, the ISO image being referred to isn't just the video portion, is it??? Obviously, I'm interested in audio and video, but everything else (menus, chapters, etc.) would be great too, assuming of course the size is small enough. Also, is it a perfect copy?
Thanks again for the responses. -
The "ISO Mode" makes 1:1 copies, as long as your blank disc has enough capacity, that's why it only works with single-layer DVDs.
This means that you get all intros, menus, subtitles, audio tracks, extras and DVD-ROM features exactly the way they are found in the original. -
I'm just curious what the difference would be using the "ISO" mode in DVD DECRYPTOR, or the "BACK-UP" mode in Smartripper. Also, how bout the "file mode" in Decryptor. If you select all files, that would be a complete back up as well. What are the differences between these three methods, and which one works the best? Also, Decryptor has it's own writer fucntions for the "ISO", would that work as well as Nero? Thanks in advance
