I keep getting an error on some recordings when ripped into ISO mode that says that the disc image is 1 block too large to fit a +R blank. Weird thing is this doesn't happen with all discs. Aggravating to say the least. I have been doing some experimenting with other ripping programs and it seems to be unique to Decryptor. Maybe the program is just too old now but the recorder is also old. Clone DVD 2 on the other hand makes a perfect ISO that can be burned with IMGBurn just fine. Also weird thing is that if you proceed with the burn using the Decryptor ISO and let it error out, it will finalize the disc and it will play perfectly anyway. Here is the log:

No idea why Decryptor is making an ISO that is one block too large but I guess this is where we part company.

DVDDecrypter no longer faithfully reads discs from my OLD Philips DVDR985...but that is because my OLD DVDR985 is dying and no longer making very good discs.

It should have been put to bed long ago when it stopped being updated. There are other current tools available.

    Hi,
In tandem with AnyDVD it's still quite a weapon, and the rip options (like no file splitting) still surpass much of the competition.

What other current tools can demux and entire DVDR and spit it out by chapter or as one giant chuck of video?

DVD Decrypter is fine. The problem is the DVD+VR spec, blank media, and the fact that machines don't age gracefully.

The spec makes it more difficult, but the ultimate problem lies in the disc. DVD+RW does not last long. Some DVD+R do not write too well in RW Alliance machines. I've never had a RW machine that was flawless on DVD+R and DVD+RW media, especially in most recent years.

Even Sony and TY DVD+R can be screwed up by burners. Remember many of those machines use old stock DVD burners, so the firmware is way out of touch with modern discs.

Computer burners and readers can also be finicky with discs, not wanting to read them.

    Solution: Different discs.
