I just got one of the new Cendyne 4x DVD burners, and it came with Sonic MyDVD 4.0.. Installed this as i had no other DVD authoring programs. First time i opened it, i attempted to "play" by dropping a MPG1 file into it. It loaded fine, but when i went to preview it, it crashed. Didnt really think to much, till the next day when i went to play some MPG1's with WMP. When i tried it attempted to "download codecs" as if i was trying to play an unknown format. After it couldnt find an "appropriate decompressor" it started to play anyway, however, about a second later it crashed WMP. Tried another file, and another, and yet another.. they all did the same thing.. Considered it was time for a good ole reboot.. But before i did that i tried to open the MPG1's with my DVD software, opened up.. started playing.. 2 seconds later.. BLUE SCREEN! and bam! automatic reboot.. nice.. Anyway, so after it rebooted, i attempted to play the MPG1 with WMP again.. same deal as before.. Got worried that it may be time for format c:\ Decided to re-install the Nimo Codec pack.. tried again... same.. rebooted and tried again... same...
as a last resort i un-installed Sonic MyDVD as i had a hunch it was the problem.. sure enough, after uninstalling, my MPG1's once again played without a hitch.. anybody else run into this problem? I would ask if there is a way around, but i decided to go with SpruceUp anyway, as i have read on here it seems to be a better program... still puzzeling tho..
