  1. I have ripped a DVD into two .vob's
I framserved through DVD2AVI and loaded up the .d2v and WAV into TMPGE.
Both the .d2v and WAV files are 1hr 23min 20secs.
But,when I try a test encode at different parts of the movie, its about 5 secs out of sync .
I have'nt changed any settings in TMPGE (of course I normally would to resize etc....but i'm trying the test using all scenarios to try and resolve sync issue).

  2. You should have an audio delay in milliseconds from smartripper. Open the TMPG "settings" pick "advanced" and then "source range" enter the millisecond value where it says "correct audio gap"

Even better would be to de-mux the ac3 and save it to wav with BeSweet......its WAY faster than DVD2AVI
entirely TOO much time on my hands

  3. Thanks Easydvd.
I would like to ,however,. try and investigate (and hopefully resolve) why the sync problem is happening in the first place.
I could understand that there would be sync issues if the length of both the video and audio was different ...but they are both identical.
Do you think that by extracting the audio and converting to WAV with Besweet would resolve the sync issue?
    or
Are you just suggesting that its faster than DVD2AVI.
    Thanks

  4. Something else I discovered.
If I open the extracted WAV in Goldwave it says " Wave File RIFF chunk is incorrect".
And if I open it in Soundforge it says (about 90% through the WAV)..."Error Occured LoadingFile".
Is there an alternate method to extract the audio as a WAV from the .vob's?
