Are you sure that it is a re-writeable? Next time it fails, save the write log that NERO creates, open it and report what kind of disk NERO thinks it is.

A DVD-RW disk has a dark blue color on the business side. A DVD-R disk has a purple color on the business side.

I can't speak for DVD-RW as I have a Ricoh DVD+RW but I find that Nero does not erase my +RWs properly.
When I get to the burn stage it tells me the disk is not empty and warns me it will be erased before burning. I just click continue and it seems to erase the disk and burn it fine.
Now I don't even bother using the erase option and just go straight to burn.

In Nero, under one of the drop options, (I can't remember which right now), there should be an option for erase ReWritable. Just use the quick erase option, and that should be all you need. I have one DVD-RW and I've erased it and reused it about 50 times, works every time. Hope this helps.

  6. I've had the same problem with dvd-rw and cd-rw using nero. I'd contact their tech support but they haven't answered my last query which I sent about 5-6 weeks ago.
