scanmagic V100 dvd player(mustek??)

I have purchased the scanmagic V100 dvd player which i believe is from the Mustek manufacturer. Does anyone know what other badge/model this piece of kit is known as so i can get started with it. One answer from a colleague is that it looks like a mustek V 300 and that region hacks may work on it..

Hi,

I have the Mustek ScanMagic V100, too. I have tried all known region hacks for the Mustek series on it, and nothing worked. I found a Webpage where the code is sold by ebay. I think, maybe I will by the code. The hacks for Mustek V300 from a holland guy does not work for the ScanMagic (he told that it would be the same player, but it is not !).

The Scanmagic V100 is really the Mustek V56L rebadged. This player can be made region-free using the remote control (see this web-site). Check out the player specs at:

The reviews on this player seem to be quite good for playing all DVD, CD and VCD formats. Have yopu encountered any problems, or it all seems OK?

the hacks for the Mustek v56l does not work for the Mustek ScanMagic V100 !

I´m waiting for the real code.
