  1. hello.
im trying to make a svcd with switchable subtitles,
i was told to use subrip and WinSubMux to do it.
i now have the subs saved on "philips" format (svcd)

when i try and load the mpeg + the subs into WinSubMux
and mutiplex them, i get an error message saying
"ph is not a valid integer value".

    can anyone tell me why?

nothing works, maybe im doing somthing wrong?

    thanks

I had the same problem when I first tried making SVCD subtitles. The winsubmux format is almost, but not quite, Phillips format. Phillips format has a header that winsubmux can't use. If you used subrip to get the file, it will start with something like this:

    Code:
    # PHILIPS SVCD DESIGNER 1.5 - 2.0 SUBTITLES FILE
    #
    # GENERATED BY SUBRIP 1.035 on 9/1/2002 1:44:20 AM
    #
    [HEADER]
    TITLE
    FRAMERATE NTSC
    DROPFRAME YES
    CONTRAST (0 15 15 15)
    [LIST]
    sub00001.bmp 00:00:58:01 00:01:00:02 120 050 302 382
    ...
Delete everything above the first subtitle BMP line (including the[LIST] header) and try it again. submux/winsubmux uses the same format for individual subtitles, but it chokes on the additional information that Phillips SVCD designer (or whatever it's called) uses.
