    Hi!
    My first question here is something I'm having a fair bit of trouble with... that is, converting .dat to just about any other media type (preferably to mpeg1, mpeg2 or .avi). I want to take some clips out of some of my vcd's, and I dont know which program will convert .dat to anything!

    do this my friend, just rename the .dat file to .mpg if you got it off of a videocd

    example:avseq01.dat rename to avseq01.mpg [it will ask if you want to change the extension, you say yes]
