  1. I am using a Canopus ADVC-50 card and I am which is hooked up to my VCR.

I was wondering what would be the best program to capture from. I can't get VirtualDub to work, I am not sure I like Scenalyzer. Are there any other good capture programs to use with this card (or the DV format?)

Also I was curious between the difference betwen DV AVI (1), and DV AVI (2).

    Thanks.

    downer,

look for an app called DVIO.EXE

Its pretty small foot-print in size, and doesn't require a rocke-scientist to
operate. If and when you do find it, make sure you select Type 2 for your
AVI's. This way, vdub will work with them.

Sorry, I can't remember the link, but if you do a SEARCH on this FORUM
for the above file as its spelled, you'll probably find the D/L link.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

  3. no problem thanks for the help. i guess i am capturing fine with Scenalyzer, but when I encode with Tmpgenc i get a few things:

    1. it shows up "letter box" when i play it back on my dvd player. that is not full screen

    2. i see some flickering lines at the bottom of the picture (do to VCR), i am sure there is a filter to correct this but i am not sure what it is.

I would really like to figure out why it is not going full screen, i am using all the guides and I am doing 1:1 VGA, full screen (keep aspect ratio), and I am also choosing non interlaced.

    any suggestions would be appreciated.

    thanks
