Hi Everyone, let me say thanks in advance for any help & advice i get!
I am reasonably new to converting DVDs to SVCD. However, i have encountered a few problems. I use DVD Decryptor to save all the files onto my harddrive and then i use DVDx for the rest. When i open an IFO file with DVDx, and the input settings are correct i click ok as normal, however, then the following error messages comes up:
"MPEG2Dec: Error during decoder initilisation"
This prevents me from going any further. Please note this only happens with certain DVDs, such as Kevin & perry Go Large, and Red Dwarf Series 1. i have copied MANY other DVDs and they work perfectly. Do you think that these DVDs are locked in some way?? All DVDs are in Pal format (i am in the UK).
Also, here are the main settings that i use. if anyone has any ideas as to what i can change to increase quality/playtime on CD (i currently get 37 mins on a SVCD) then i would be very grateful:
Input Settings:
Output Framerate: Pal (25Hz)
Save Your DVD Drive: 10 Megs or RAM
iDCT (Best Quality)
Output Settings:
Vid Bitrate: 2376
High motion Search
DCT/iDCT: FPU
Resolution: 480 x 480
No Zoom
Volume dont exceed 80min VCD (it seems to correct for the fact that the output settings are for SVCD)
Thanks Everyone, Greg
PS My System (in case it helps): AMD XP 2000+, 1 Gig SD Ram, Ge-Force 4 Ti4200 Graphics, Microsoft Windows XP Professional
