    Hi all.

Just reencoded a huge file only to get the same error as once before. ffmpegx quits before splitting the file, and when I try to split it "manually" (i.e. choosing the muxed file in the Video-box, checking the right boxes and hit Go!) I get this:

Please advise Again I have a perfectly synced great-looking 2.3GB MPEG-2 that is of absolutely no use to me whatsoever

    Hi again.

Tried checking the "Author as svcd .img" thingy too, just in case it would make a difference... it didn't really, but the error message was (perhaps) a bit more elaborate... not that I understand anymore of it...

  3. Does it change anything if you split in 2 or 4 chunks instead of 3?

I don't know if ffmpegx cares about the number of chunks; it's pretty likely though, considering that JAW MPEG-2 splitter could *only* split this in 4 chunks (even if I "ordered" 3!)...

Frankly, I gave up shortly after submitting this question and decided to go disc-by-disc instead. I've just ripped (and soon reencoded) the first third of the film in question (8 chapters out of 22) and making that a "stand-alone" first disc.

BTW, is there some deep-rooted difference between the algorithms used in DVD2SVCD and ffmpegx? I only ask because my attempt at putting a 2 hour film on 2 discs looked pretty poor, whereas I have several 2 hour titles on 2 cds from the PC-equivalent that look very sharp. I am *not* complaining mind you (I'd rather have a 3 disc SVCD done w a Mac any old day hehe), just mildly curious about thigns I don't understand

    /W

P.S. The manual is progressing nicely.
