  1. keep the original sound track.

I'm using MYDvd 4.x- and couldn't find anything on their site about this.

I downloaded a bunch of VOB trailers from this site:

    http://www.cinenow.com/fr/vobtrailer.php3

I just want to make a simple DVD with chapters of these trailers.

I've been reading that I may have to take apart the vob file and then do somethign with the sound or I may wind up getting no sound, or the sound is converted to PCM - which in the case of the trailers would be a moot point. is this correct?

  3. well, now that it's separated, I have two files, the mv2 and ac3.

MYDvd doesn't support AC3. I tried to convert it with tmpenc but it didn't work.

So what's my next step. Is there another program that will support both these file types to create a DVD-R (with menus so I don't want to use Ifoedit).

Or is there an easier way to convert an AC3 audio file to a format that is recognizable my MYDvd (mpeg, AVI, WMA). And if so, does this keep the same quality of sound as the original ?

I've read a few posts that state I could use Spruce up, but it's no longer available.

  5. if you're referring to the MYDvd guide, there's nothing in it that states it supports VOB files.

If you're referring to the IFOedit guide, it doesn't support chapters.

Can you clarify? I've ready several guides at this point and still aren't having any luck.

Nothing I know of supports VOB, chapters, and AC3 files.

  7. DVD Maestro, Sonic's Senerist, DVDQuickbuilder, or DVDWise are all programs that will take m2v and ac3 files and will build dvds complete with chapters and menus. The first two are full featured and the last two are significantly less featured. Unfortunetly, none of them are free and I cannot post warez here.
If you can aquire any of these programs, Doom9's site (www.doom9.org) has some very good authoring guides.

    Good Luck.

  10. okay, big OOPS here - I don't mind paying a hundred or 2 dollars, but several thousand?

Yikes, no wonder everyone is having a hard time. Geez, it's just audio...

I just keep looking around and going in circles. There are so many ways and yet none is easy. In don't mind the work - but I want to preserve the quality of the audio.

Which is the best scenario for doing this?
