Hello there rippers!
I just read at a Swedish forum, a person writes that ripping one movie a day will kill your DVD in 1 to 2 months!
Is this really true?
I mean, why would it kill your DVD? Is it wearing out the hardware ripping a movie???

Well my dvd drive just broke after 2 yrs of solid ripping . I'v probaly ripped close to 1000 movies with it, funny thing is i think a firmware upgrade had a lot to do with it.

Phhuuu! Thanks Ripper, now I can go to work and don't have to be worried about this no more! Since my DVD's 2 month birthday is coming up... And since I've ripped 1 movie a day... Well you probably get the point why I'm worried.
Thanks again

hey....awhile back before i got my 2nd DVD-ROM, i was ripping 2 movies/day with my first DVD-ROM. that was over 1.5 years ago and it still works, although i can tell it's wearing out.

they probably mean if you rip direct from the drive , eg not copy to your hard disk. In this case drive is kept going for length of encode ..... you know 8hours ++ also it will tend to spin down and up again.
not a good thing for your driveCorned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.
