  1. Can an mpeg file be played on a dvd player which can play (svcd/cdr/cdrw/vcd)? Like i burn a mpeg file onto a 80min cd and it will work?

Because before I thought you need a .dat file instead of a mpeg file??

  2. First you have to make sure that your mpeg is (S)VCD compliant. Then burn the compliant mpeg with software that can burn it as a (S)VCD.

For compliant VCD you need: MPEG1, Video CBR 1150kb/s, Audio CBR 224kb/s, and a Resolution of 352x240.

To burn I use Nero Burning Rom. www.nero.com
