  1. After going through the menus of DVD2SVCD. I then goto rip and convert on the conversion tab. The program says preparing vobfiles to be ripped. After about 10mins, I get this message
I/O error 103 The operation completed successfully

    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you

  2. You're most likely not doing anything wrong.

Sometimes the ripping function of DVD2SVCD has trouble unlocking the DVD in your drive.

There are 2 things you can do for this.

First, put the DVD in the drive and play foe a few seconds in whatever software player you have and then start the DVD2SVCD process again.
(If you don't have a software player then download a free or trial one fro the tools link on the left side of this page.) Playing it unlocks the protection and saves the ripper a lot of trouble.

Second, you could try ripping with SmartRipper and then just tell DVD2SVCD what folder you used to save the ripped files. This is the method I always use because SmartRipper seldom has trouble and it tells you up front if it is having troulbe as well as what the trouble might be.

    Either way should work.

  3. Oops! I jsut re-read your post and you are getting the error 10 minutes into the rip.

It sounds like the comand line ripper in DVD2SVCD tripped over a problem on the DVD that it couldn't deal with.

I would DEFINATELY now go to the SmartRipper method. SmartRipper is a bit more robust in getting past source DVD problems.

    Good Luck
