In the past i have successfully converted an avi file to mpg or vcd. But since i reinstalled windows xp i can not convert any files using TMPEGnc or the panasonic encoder. When I click browse on the audio/ or video there is full indication that the file has video and audio. When i click encode the process starts but the screen remains black. When i burn the cd and play it on my dvd player there is audio but no video(0nly a solid black screen).
Does any one know why this is happening and how i can correct the problem
Regards,
desperately seeking an answer

Ash,
I am still a newbie but I've been learning a lot reading different forum posts. I was burning video CD's with no problem and then overnight I started getting error messages when I would encode with TMPG. When I did get something to encode I was missing the audio. I downloaded and installed the Nimo Codec pack and the error messages disappeared. If you haven't done that yet, try it.
It can be downloaded here: http://nimo.everwicked.com/
