  1. Hi,

    I have this ~800 MB SVCD 1.0 mpeg file. When I try to turn it into a bin/cue with chapters etc with VCDEasy it says the mpeg is about 36000 seconds long. This isn't right ofcourse . Also, when I actually convert it to bin/cue it gives an error:

    invalid mpeg packet found at packet #315160 -- please fix this mpeg file!

    I've already tried fixing the mpg with VCDGear but that produces 4 seperate mpg files.
    1a.mpg = ~700 MB
    1b.mpg = ~4 MB
    1c.mpg = ~5 MB
    1d.mpg = ~60 MB

    And when I use those files to make a bin/cue, it gives me the same error.

    When I play the mpg file with mplayer it works perfectly. Maybe I should just add the file in Nero and burn the SVCD? But I also want to add chapters :/.

    Any suggestions?

    Dickbride,
    You might want to demux that file and remultiplex with either TMPGEnc or bbMPEG and see if either one of them throws up an error message. You didn't mention how you acquired this file, but my guess is it's something you downloaded off the net and there's a good chance it somehow was corrupted during transmission. In this case you’re not going to have any choice but to re-encode it.
    Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack

  3. I always recieve some error message with vcdeasy, try nero burning rom and see if it comes out ok. I burned my files and found nothing noticably wrong that vcdeasy was referring to.

    I would look at Ulead DVD MovieFactory, low cost ($50.00) and it does a good job.

    You can dowload a 30 day trial copy for free at:

    Hope this helps!

  5. Cool!

    Thanks for the answers, that gives me something to try out . BTW, I did download the file from the web, and from 2 different sources, and they're probably both corrupt. Oh well, nothing I can do about it .
