  1. I'm still pretty new at this but I'm give it a shot. I just downloaded Vdub to try and capture DV from my camcorder. When I try and capture it fist tells me that it cannot find a driver to draw to this nonRBG format, and that I won't have preview or histogram features. Then when I try and capture DV it tells me it didn't capture any and to check to see if my capture card is functioning properly and a valid source is connected. I;'ve looked at the other topics throughout this forum and it looks like most of them are connected to problems with ATI cards. I don't have one, just a Que Firewire PCI card and a Abit Siluro GF4 Ti4200 video card. Does this relate to the drivers or codecs? Help.

I'm just starting to find interest in DV myself, but reading past posts, it seems that it's not your codecs but rather Vdub doesn't recognize your firewire (or at least refuses to capture with it). I don't know if it's a VFW or WDM driver issue, but search the posts.
Most people seem to use Ulead or Premiere software for DV capture and possible editing.

    Good luck!!!!
