  1. As well all know most VCD's come on 2 disks because, the size of the movie exceeds 700mb's.

    I have a secondary System that I use as a movie player via my Tv, which includes an 80mb Hardrive for movie storage.

    my primary Inet system has a DVD burner so I have no need for CDR and VCDs on 2 disks when I can plonk 4 mpegs(movies) on a DVD.

    Alot of Vcd's on the net, the second disk has a runin from the first ie.

    Movie = say Lord of the Jedi's
    Disk 1 = starts 00.00 ---------> 46mins 50 secs
    Disk 2 = starts at 46.47 secs into the movie

    3 or 4 seconds before the disk1 ends.

    So when you join the 2 disks you have to remove that runin from disk 2, I have been doing this using TmpGenc, using my eyes and ears to chose where to cut, but it aint perfect, it never is as it relies on me jumping on the pause with a mouse click.

    Is there an easier way?

    I was think that is it possible (without much fuss) to create a small app that you could select a frame from one mpeg, then do a per pixel search in another mpeg for exactly the same frame, and its time?

    Then all you would have to do is enter then info into tmpGenc when cutting.

    I hope I have not bored you to much.

    Jumping on the pause button, really? Anyway, try TMPGEnc. This time, use the project wizard. The Source Frame step allows editing by frame. Maybe this will work for you.

  3. I know what your saying, but its still involves some p*ssing about.
    surely it wouldnt be too hard to right an app to find the exact start point when comparing to a frame in the first mpeg.

    my next question is would that frame be exactly the same in disk 2 or does mpeg compression not work like that?
