    Gentlefolk,

I am a complete newbie with ffmpegx but I believe that I have it installed correctly( other posts were very helpful). My issue is that when trying to Join 2 .avi files the encoding appears to complete correctly but in all cases (I have tried with three different sets of files) the file is 1.47 GB in size but has stopped well short of the end of the second file. All of the original files are 730+MB in size so I would expect the new file to be approx. 1.6+GB in size (roughly). I have done searches but am unable to find answer to this question. BTW each pair of files I am trying to join were all created using the same encoding methods, by the same people, so I do not believe that it is an issue with the files themselves it just seems to stop at 1.47 GB.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

You have not used "original files".
Use the originals and you wont have trouble.
