    hello...im a newbie to all of this....i downloaded nero...TMPGE...audio dub..and so forth...i encoded an avi file .....on the TMPGE....it took like 6 hours...that worked out fine....i followed the instructions exactly....then i tried to use VDCeasy to burn the VCD....but it wouldnt work cause it said something about the...CDRDAO integration...i downloaded an ASPI driver...so it added an F: drive.....anyhow i gave up on that and got nero....i used it exactly as the HOW TO guide said on this site...it burned fine and everything but i cant play it on my computer(in windows media player),on my playstation 2(was expected)...or my panasonic DVD-A120...i looked it up on the compatibility list and it said the panasonic one is compatible with VCD and DVD-R(W)...i dont understand why it isnt working.....do you need a certain type of cd to burn it onto?....or are there codecs that i need or something....im running a compaq presario with a 450mhz processor.....and an hp 9150i cd writer(which is compatible with nero)...i am computer illiterate to an extent....can anyone help me on this....any help at all by anyone will be greatly appreciated....sorry for posting such ignorance but i need to know if im doing something wrong or what not....thank you for your time....peace

    wow, how patient you are.
    you waited an entire hour and a half before yelling for help.
    it'd be amazing if anybody helps you at all.
    are you sure your DVD player is compatible w/CDR or CDRW?
    try a different brand maybe
    what are you askin' me for...

    yea its compatible...it burns fine but when i put it in the player it says no play...and when i try to open the .dat file on my comp it just freezes...i dunno this is all new to me.....is it suppose to burn folders to the cd-r when trying to burn a vcd?....sorry bout the second post i was tired and anxious i spent all day converting and burning this vcd and then it didnt work....so if someone can help this newb id be greatful...thanx n peace

  5. There are two options to check about complatible player, first is VCD/SVCD complatible and second is CDR/CDRW (DVDR) complatible.

    I've checked your player and it says that your player can't play on CDR so you'd better try with CDRW and see if it works.

    For PS2 I think you'll need some mod chip before can play VCD disc.

    thank you so much for your reply.....i think you do need a mod chip to play cd-rs...ect...that could be the problem i will get some cd-rws today and try it....thanx again..peace
