  1. I'm having a problem with virtualdub. Everytime I try to use it on a mpeg type movie it says
ASFarse error--too many segments in packet at 11f5508(2 expected) packet size=780, send time:47:22:22:16.

I have no idea what to do.

Why are you using Virtualdub with mpeg? It is designed for avis.

Yes but it works fine with mpeg-1 as well and you can always
    frameserve mpeg-2 via DVD2AVI.

    @ Upper Level.

were you trying to load a mpeg-2 file by any chance?

    @ banjazzer.

Well, maybe he's converting mpeg-1 to avi? I think the error message may become clearer if we get more information on what the aim of the exercise is.

  7. Ah I see what is wrong - the answer is in the error msg.

Upper Level, you are trying to load an ASF file, not an mpeg file.
You need Virtual Dub 1.2 to load ASF files, other versions of
    V. Dub had ASF support removed because Microsoft owns the format
and sent the heavy boys in.

    use www.google.com
    and be patient, there are
copies of 1.2 out there, just a little hard to find sometimes.
