  1. Hi. I prefer using the pre-bloatware Windows media player 6.4. I've downloaded some WMV files that needed a later version of the WMV codecs.
I was just wondering if anyone can direct me to a site that has the player codecs that'd suit WMP 6.4,& that I can burn to CD for any reinstallations etc. later on. I'm assuming to use the encoding codec you'd need Media Player 7.x or above,so I'd prefer to just find the playing codec if thats the case.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

just install the latest version of media player .. but you dont have to use it .. 6.4 is on all win2k and even XP systems . its what i do as i cant stand newer media players also ... cant get properties, stupid graphic acid trip thing when it cant play a video portion of a file. and always wanting to add whatever i do to some collection ...

i install newest versions then del exe and rename 6.4 which is in same dir anyway .. remeber to rename it back before another upgrade ..
