Cannot play wmv in Windows Media Player

I recently downloaded a wmv online, but I cannot play it in WMP. It plays fine in VLC, but when I try to play it in WMP I get an error message that says "The Profile is Invalid". When I try to convert it or play it using any other program, I get an error message that basically says I can't open the file.

I attached screenshots of the error message in WMP and the stream info in VLC.

Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance!

If you can open it in VLC you can use VLC to 'stream' it to a file, using a different codec. Look at the bottom portion of the VLC 'Open File' dialog.

WMP is a lousy player for about anything, IMO, but you might try updating it.

BTW, what OS are you running on that machine? That looks like a Vista theme for WMP.
