I've tried using several different encoding settings and the main problem is that the audio is off, way off!!. The DVD I'm encoding is Macross 2 and the audio seems to be fine at first but then realize that it is at least 30secs behind. I've followed Doom9's guides but the problem is that TMPGEnc completely freezes up when using the template txt file. I know it says it will come back after a while but it will not. Using version 091 of IfoEdit. Left if sitting for about an hour once and no response. Has anyone had any success with it or with CCE? It comes out perfectly with ReMPEG but th quality is so blocky I don't want to waste a DVDR to have VCD quality at best. Any other methods I can use? When I demuxed the AC3 and MPEG stream and converted them to play in VirtualDub the audio synch is perfect but is always out of whack when remuxed in IfoEdit.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggghhhhh hhhhhht. Ok, different question then. is there any way for me to create the a m2v file. mux the ac3 audio and then remux it back into the VOBs. What I essentially want to do is keep the original menu but reducing the size of the file and remuxing has been the major roadblock in my path. If anyones has any other suggestions about how I can do this please let me know. Can Scenarist or Spruce work with the original menu somehow or is there some other way to do this. Thank you anyone.

  3. TMPGEnc does come back from the template. However, don't forget that you're supposed to highlight one of the GOP groups (the one that is the same as the GOP template that you'll use with TMPGEnc).

Most commonly, this is a group like
    IPBBPBBPBBPBB

This keeps any group like this from being put into the output file. If you forget to highlight one (I've done it many times) it takes a REALLY long time.....

Thanks VidGuy! That little detail wasn't mentioned in the guide.
