Problems with burning

I can convert the Divx files fine but when I burn them using nero, I get a few defects in the picture of the movie. the mpeg doesn't have these defects and I cant even fast forward ahead in the movie, it just freezes is there any way to fix this problem?

I tried burning them at 4x speed is, that too fast?

try changing your cdr brand ( thats assuming your standalone is cdr compatable ) i know it sucks , but we've all been through this ...also remember this .........just because the shop punts them at shockingly high price , it dont make the shit taste any sweeter!
