  1. Hi,

Anybody know if it's possible to convert a vcd v.1.0 (1.1) to vcd v. 2.0?

My dvd playser only supports vcd v.2.0

Thanks for your help in advance.

    Regards

VCDgear to rip the .mpg file and VCDeasy to make a new VCD 2.0 compliant disk.

  3. Hi Snowmoon,

    Thanks alot for your help.

By .mpg file do you mean the AVSEQ01 file in the folder "MPEGAV" - which in this case is a .dat file?

They are one in the same but with a few slight differeces, but i can't remember what they are. Both vcdgear and vcdeasy have tools that'll convert the .dat to .mpg

  5. An alternative is to use VCDXRIP to extract all the files from the original VCD. You will have to extract it to a CUE/BIN image first.

Alternatively, you can just use CDXA2MPEG to copy the "DAT" file(s) off the VCD and convert them back to standard MPEG on your HDD.

Then you can use those MPEGs to make another VCD (with Nero or if you want menus, etc., then I suggest VCDImager +/- a GUI like VCDEasy).

VCDXRIP and CDXA2MPEG are tools in the VCDImager suite of programs. If you don't like using command console tools, you can use VCDImager Tools GUI.
