I keep hearing that rempeg is very slow, how slow exactly? Seems pretty fast to me, but then I have a fast machine. FightClub says it will take 4 hours to reencode, seems ok to me.

I used Rmpeg2 on aliens3
and the output was terrible. Similar settings for the Thing produced
a nice result. Nether result was as good a quality as when using CCE
and the time taken to complete each movie was, on average, an hour longer using rempeg2, than CCE. -
Interesting perhaps I'll try to check out one of those CCE IfoEdit guides I've seen, cause the way I'm doing it I need something I can remux back into IfoEdit.

If you want to remux back into IFOEDIT, then stick with Rempeg2. Just be careful of movies that have interlaced cells at the beginning of the movie (like the Warner Brothers logo). Remove those cells before transcoding with Rempeg2 or you will get terrible output.
I used Rempeg2 for about my first 10-12 movies (due to its simplicity). I then used TMPGEnc for about 4-5 movies (hated the completely inaccurate size results), and switched to CCE. CCE is definately the way to go, even with the extra step (re-authoring).
