  1. Hi all,
I have Premiere Pro 2. I have seen somewhere in a demo of the Premiere Pro 2 where a guy is in a street and is looking at a piece of paper inviting him and friends to a party, as he looks up he walks towards the camera slowly and then after a few steps the footage goes back to normal speed.
So I want to incorporate this trick with a project were a person is walking at normal speed and when the beat slows down I then want the footage to slow and speed backup and slow and speed back up etc.

I have tried this by right clicking on the footage in Premiere and using Speed/Duration. But it selects the whole scene and not the parts of it (or frmae by frame)

But how do I do this using Premiere Pro 2.?

    Thankyou for your help josel

Don't know about Premiere, but Vegas has a tool called a Velocity Envelope that does exactly what you are describing through a simple set of key points.

  3. Split the clip into pieces. This way, it will only apply the speed setting to the portion of the clip.

In CS2 you can only do this through splitting the clip and there's no way of ramping it up and down smoothly. In CS3 though you can use the time remapping tool which allows you to adjust the speed and back again within the same clip. You can manipulate the curves to get exactly the effect you want.

It's worth upgrading to CS3 if you already have CS2. It's about $299. If you're a student then you can qualify for the education license instead which is even cheaper.

Check ebay - always worth see what's available there
