    Have noticeable pixels after converting avi file (digital8 PAL source) to mpeg2 by Ulead VS6 and cannot get them out even at higher continous 9000 bit rate. The source materila is clear and crisp. I was wondering whether it is Ulead that is causing those quality probems and perhaps I should try some other tools.
    Any idea what could be wrong?

    Can you give us any more information? Are you converting to MPEG-1 or MPEG-2?

    What motion detection settings are you using?

    I am converting to MPEG-2 by using Ulead PAL DVD template, 25fps, with fixed bit rate 9000, but I am not sure if I understand what motion detection settings are...where can I find this information?
