  2. hate to tell you this, but it cant be done. I have looked thruogh all of the guides, searched the web and other forums and I cant get anything that will do it. I hope that someone postsafter this proving me wrong. My last stab at doing this is letting nero encode it. It is basically the last thing for me to try.

What happened when you tried to save the audio in a wave file, and then encoded it as the audio input in TMPGEnc?

If the the audio was still out of synch, what happened after you re-synched it using the guide?
    Hello.

  5. Can you share which guide did this. I've tried nicky's guide from dvd-digest, and then the main one up top on the main page and then there were a few others in the conversion area. I have been trying to convert 10 and 12.5 fps videos for awhile now and I either get the video sped up and the audio is way behind. I did the things that you were mentioning.

short question, please post which guide you used, because if you solved this issue, you have succeeded where every other post/guide I've seen failed. (you'll be an instant celebrity

I really like using the gradual out of synch one. One of the few times I get to use the time warp function on Gold Wave.

  10. I have finally successfully converted a low frame rate video to VCD!!! I cannot believe it, and with the most unlikely tool, Nero. I have build 5.5XXXXXX and had been trying everything with no luck. I said, what the hell and just let nero convert it. I have now converted MIBII,Signs, and reign of fire which were shot at 10-12 fps to standard ntsc vcd. I am going to try and do a post later that other people can search on to figure it out. Of course, it may be a fluke (i dont know since I did 3 films that way), but if other people are half as frustrated as I was, this may work.

  13. just open tmpgenc and choose the vcd template of your choice and reencode the whole mpg if you get a error with tmpgenc not opening the mpg u can demultiplex it then use the audio and the mp2 file and encode the whole movie into the fps u want it depends on wich framerate you want pal is 25fps and ntsc is 29 fps and remember if you want to burn it onto a dvdr you can choose the unlock template and change the audio to 48khz as you encode the movie wich saves you more time need more help just let me know
here to help or express myself not to rack up my posts

  14. grimdeath, I had tried TMPGENC for this before, but I was always getting audio sync errors and other issues. The conversion using nero gave the vcd without those issues.

craigtucker, Oddly enough, the frame rate conversion did not have an impact on the final vcd. I had another cam movie (that was actually 23 fps) and this one looks smoother (for obvious reasons) at the 29.976 NTSC frame rate. I've looked at a number of cam films and I don't see choppiness, audio clitches or anything.

If you are having issues with low fps divx files, give nero a whirl. At the very least, you'll have another coaster to rest your drink on while you try something else

Actually, could someone take a shot at this and see if it works for them and post back the results? I'd be interested to see if this was a fluke or not.

  15. I have encoded over 50 divx films to VCD. The only one that was'nt a standard framerate was scooby doo and that was 20fps. In still shots or low motion scenes it looked fine, but in high motion scenes you could tell it was'nt quite right.

  16. Hi,

I'm sorry if his has been covered before, but I'm new to all this.

I have several avi's with a 12.5 fps including MIB2, Signs, and XXX and need to convert them to 25 fps or PAL. I understand that this will give me a very "average" VCD, but would like to convert the files if it is at all possible.

I have tried several of the suggestions through-out this thread and find the end result is jerky and distorted when played on my standalone dvd player.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

  17. It will be jerky due to the fact that half of the frames are missing.
